My story

My journey to homeopathy

My journey into homeopathy began through life throwing me a fair few curve balls and as a result my family and I faced significant health challenges, including PTSD, head injury recovery, grief, fertility difficulties, and chronic skin conditions.

Determined to find a way to live life to the fullest without being held back by health concerns or relying solely on prescription medication, I explored a wide range of healthcare options, from conventional medicine to complementary therapies.

Health advice should fit around real life With homeopathy there are no regimes, no set times to take medication, no reporting — just taking some drops or a pilule and letting the body do what it needs to do to release and re-calibrate. Having experienced its benefits firsthand, I understand the difference that this personalised support can make.

It was through trying everything I could find, that I discovered homeopathy. The positive impact it had on my family's health fired something in me to want to learn about it. What began as a personal interest soon became more and I signed up to study to be a Homeopath. The more I studied the more I became increasingly fascinated by the possibilities that homeopathy offered, with its ability to support the body to re-find its natural balance.

As a homeopath, I have the privilege of witnessing the positive changes my clients experience as they regain confidence in their health, physically, mentally and emotionally. It is an honour to be trusted to support people through these transformative journeys and to help them create lasting foundations for long-term wellbeing.

The basics

What is homeopathy?

One of the main questions I get asked is, what is homeopathy?

A familiar example The homeopathic remedy Allium cepa is derived from onion. If you've ever chopped an onion, you'll recognise the familiar symptoms of watery eyes and a runny nose. A person experiencing similar symptoms may benefit from this remedy as part of an individually tailored homeopathic approach.

Homeopathy is a system of complementary medicine developed over 200 years ago and is the second most used system of medicine in the world. It is built on the principle that a substance which can cause symptoms in a healthy person may, in a highly diluted form, help stimulate the body's own response in someone experiencing those same symptoms.

Homeopathic remedies are what we prescribe; they are prepared from natural sources — plants, minerals, and other substances. They undergo a process of dilution and succussion, to the point that none of the original substance is left, just its energetic imprint.

The selection of remedies is matched to the individual, not the diagnosis. Two people with the same symptoms may be given entirely different remedies, because homeopathy treats the person as a whole, not just the condition.

When selecting a remedy, a homeopath takes into account many aspects of a person's health and wellbeing, including:

  • Physical symptoms
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Mental and behavioural patterns
  • Personal experiences
  • Lifestyle and environmental factors

By looking at how these elements connect and influence one another, the most appropriate remedy can be chosen to support the individual as a whole.

One of the things I value most about homeopathy is its ability to meet you where you are. It supports and encourages a deeper understanding of your health, helping you recognise patterns, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence.

In practice

What can homeopathy support?

Over the years, the same patterns come up again and again in consultations — physical, emotional, and everything in between. Here are some of the symptoms  people may have that homeopathy can support. If you're not sure whether homeopathy can help you or not please send me an email to discuss.

Recurring aches & injuries A shoulder or knee injury that flares up after activity and just won't fully settle, however much physical therapy you've tried.
A busy, wired mind or struggling to stay focussed Finding it hard to switch off, sit still or focus — sometimes given a label like ADHD or ADD, sometimes just accepted as "who you are."
Unpredictable digestion Bloating and uncertainty about what your gut will do next — often labelled IBS or diverticulitis.
Hormonal shifts Brain fog, mood swings, exhaustion, and temperature changes linked to PMS, perimenopause, or menopause.
Skin that won't settle Flare-ups with no obvious pattern — itchiness and unpredictability that's hard to pin down, sometimes Eczema, Psoriais, Dermatitis or Topical Steroid Withdrawal.
Trauma, grief and stuck patterns Memories or grief that resurface even after other therapies, or a mind and body that wants to let go but don't know how — sometimes labelled as Depression or PTSD.
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What actually happens in a consultation?

I spend time talking through your current symptoms, general health, daily routine, sleep, stress levels, and relevant family history. Nothing is rushed — the aim is to build a full picture of you, not just tick off a checklist, before a remedy is chosen.

Is homeopathy safe to use alongside conventional medicine?

Homeopathic remedies are generally considered gentle and are commonly used alongside conventional treatment. That said, you should never stop or change any prescribed medication without first speaking to your GP or prescribing doctor.

How soon will I notice a difference?

This varies from person to person and depends on what's being addressed. Some people notice changes within days, while longer-standing patterns can take a few sessions to shift. I'll review progress together with you at each follow-up.

How often do I need an appointment?

After your consultation it would typically be 6-8 weeks before a follow up appointment.

Do I need anything special for an online consultation?

Just a quiet, private space and a device with video and audio — a phone, tablet, or computer all work well. A link is sent at the time of booking your appointment, and remedies are posted afterwards.

What's the difference between the initial and follow-up sessions?

The initial consultation is longer and covers your full case history in depth. Follow-ups are shorter check-ins to review how you're responding and adjust the remedy or approach if needed.
